1) Audition

Training Choirs

Chorus Angelicus invites all children, kindergarten through fifth grade, interested in singing to join the non-auditioned Training Choir for a lively one and a half hour session per week. Classes are based on creative instruction designed to develop music and performance skills. Each session includes a segment of ear training and theory, musical activities, movement, and repertoire. These activites provide learning experiences which develop the musical and social skills necessary to move on to the next level.

Junior and Seniors Choirs

A training Choir member may be encouraged to audition for Chorus Angelicus when he/she exhibits a strong, accurate voice, passion for singing, and the willingness to work. Students who have musical experience and are 10-14 years old may audition for the Junior or Senior choirs, as well.

It is an easy process – just call the Joyful Noise office 860-496-8841, and let them know you would like to schedule an audition time (Please note that we accept new students in September and January).

Gaudeamus

Please call the Joyful Noise office at (860) 496-8841 to learn more about joining Gaudeamus or to schedule an audition time

Tuition: Joyful Noise is a 501(c)(3) organization, and in an effort to engage and include as much of the community as possible, we strive to keep our tuition affordable and fundraise all year long to provide scholarship money for tuition and events. Below is a breakdown of the cost of participation.

Tuition for Angels in Training/Advanced Angels: $600

Tuition for Junior Choir/ Senior Choir: $1050

Tuition covers musical instruction from September to June (our artistic season), as well as sheet music costs. For choristers joining us mid season, we prorate the tuition. For low income families, we do offer financial aid- please let us know if you intend to apply (no application fee!).

3) Volunteer!

Not interested in singing? There are a variety of available volunteer opportunities throughout the year, and we’ve got jobs to meet many different interests, skill sets, and time commitments.  Below are just a few of the volunteer opportunities available.

  • Concert Volunteers

The Concert volunteers work to insure a smooth and enjoyable performance for our audience and choristers/musicians. Good at merchandising? Enjoy fast paced work? Love choral music? There’s a place for you here!

  • Events & Fundraising

As 60% of our yearly income is derived from gifts, grants, advertising, sponsorships, fundraising events, etc, fundraising is a cornerstone to making our organization work! All funds raised ultimately affect tuition costs and artistic opportunities during the season. Enjoy planning parties?  Good at networking? Grant writing skills? Have unique ideas for new fundraising opportunities?  Please get in touch with us!

  • Office Assistance

As a small non-profit with a part time office staff, we are always looking for volunteers to help with mailings, data input, robe and music tracking, etc.
